Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help(me)!" 10

When thou dost read the Qur´an, seek Allah´s protection from Satan the rejected one. 98

And if(at any time) an incitement to discord is made to thee by the Evil One, seek refuge in Allah. He is the One Who hears and knows all things. 36

When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close(to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk in the right way. 186

O ye who believe! give your response to Allah and His Messenger, when He calleth you to that which will give you life; and know that Allah cometh in between a man and his heart, and that it is He to Whom ye shall(all) be gathered. 24

Say(to the Rejecters): "My Lord is not uneasy because of you if ye call not on Him: But ye have indeed rejected(Him), and soon will come the inevitable(punishment)!" 77

Or, Who listens to the(soul) distressed when it calls on Him, and Who relieves its suffering, and makes you(mankind) inheritors of the earth?(Can there be another) god besides Allah? Little it is that ye heed! 62

Who is better in speech than one who calls(men) to Allah, works righteousness, and says, "I am of those who bow in Islam"? 33

Had We sent down this Qur´an on a mountain, verily, thou wouldst have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder for fear of Allah. Such are the similitudes which We propound to men, that they may reflect. 21

Allah made it but a message of hope for you, and an assurance to your hearts:(in any case) there is no help except from Allah. The Exalted, the Wise: 126

"Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction. 28

(To the righteous soul will be said:) "O(thou) soul, in(complete) rest and satisfaction! 27

"Our Lord! make of us Muslims, bowing to Thy(Will), and of our progeny a people Muslim, bowing to Thy(will); and show us our place for the celebration of(due) rites; and turn unto us(in Mercy); for Thou art the Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. 128

To him belongeth all that dwelleth(or lurketh) in the night and the day. For he is the one who heareth and knoweth all things." 13

He it is that cleaveth the day-break(from the dark): He makes the night for rest and tranquillity, and the sun and moon for the reckoning(of time): Such is the judgment and ordering of(Him), the Exalted in Power, the Omniscient. 96

Of their goods, take alms, that so thou mightest purify and sanctify them; and pray on their behalf. Verily thy prayers are a source of security for them: And Allah is One Who heareth and knoweth. 103

It is out of His Mercy that He has made for you Night and Day,- that ye may rest therein, and that ye may seek of his Grace;- and in order that ye may be grateful. 73

After(the excitement) of the distress, He sent down calm on a band of you overcome with slumber, while another band was stirred to anxiety by their own feelings, Moved by wrong suspicions of Allah-suspicions due to ignorance. They said: "What affair is this of ours?" Say thou: "Indeed, this affair is wholly Allah´s." They hide in their minds what they dare not reveal to thee. They say(to themselves): "If we had had anything to do with this affair, We should not have been in the slaughter here." Say: "Even if you had remained in your homes, those for whom death was decreed would certainly have gone forth to the place of their death"; but(all this was) that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purge what is in your hearts. For Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts. 154

When there comes to them some matter touching(Public) safety or fear, they divulge it. If they had only referred it to the Messenger, or to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigators would have Tested it from them(direct). Were it not for the Grace and Mercy of Allah unto you, all but a few of you would have fallen into the clutches of Satan. 83

Or, Who has created the heavens and the earth, and Who sends you down rain from the sky? Yea, with it We cause to grow well-planted orchards full of beauty of delight: it is not in your power to cause the growth of the trees in them.(Can there be another) god besides Allah? Nay, they are a people who swerve from justice. 60

Or, Who has made the earth firm to live in; made rivers in its midst; set thereon mountains immovable; and made a separating bar between the two bodies of flowing water?(can there be another) god besides Allah? Nay, most of them know not. 61

Or, Who listens to the(soul) distressed when it calls on Him, and Who relieves its suffering, and makes you(mankind) inheritors of the earth?(Can there be another) god besides Allah? Little it is that ye heed! 62

Or, Who guides you through the depths of darkness on land and sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy?(Can there be another) god besides Allah?- High is Allah above what they associate with Him! 63

Or, Who originates creation, then repeats it, and who gives you sustenance from heaven and earth?(Can there be another) god besides Allah? Say, "Bring forth your argument, if ye are telling the truth!" 64

Is one who worships devoutly during the hour of the night prostrating himself or standing(in adoration), who takes heed of the Hereafter, and who places his hope in the Mercy of his Lord -(like one who does not)? Say: "Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know? It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition. 9
